About Me

Hi everyone, my name is Aaron (aka Xenorith) and I am based in Manchester, England. As you can see, I’m a graphic/web designer, and since around 2004 I have self-taught myself a wide-range of web design/development skills. I began playing around with simple html and css designs and started a computer games review/cheats site called GameGodz (sadly, no longer online), which came from my interest in gaming. After GameGodz finished, I moved towards e-commerce and set up a content-management system driven site called MicroRC, which sold a fair number of mini radio-controlled toys in what was then a niche market. This was PHP/MySQL driven and was built from code snippets along with my own code. Like GameGodz, I wrote the theme using standards compliant html/css.

I then attended Keele University to study a dual honours physics and history degree (obtaining a 2:1 in 2007). I spent a year training as a chartered accountant but decided that it wasn't the career for me. So, I jumped back into web design since it was something that I had enjoyed as a hobby for many years, in addition to the fact that I already had a firm grounding in the basics.

I currently have one large scale project on the go, Infinite Conflict. It is a massively multiplayer online text game set in a sci-fi context, and is a joint venture with a fellow web designer, Muffinman. The game itself is coded primarily in PHP/MySQL and is currently running on a Linux/Apache server. I have designed the HTML and CSS to W3C compliant standards and have search-engine optimised the site. The graphics were all drawn by me in Adobe Photoshop in order to help bring some like to an entirely text-based universal domination simulator. It is currently setup to support ten thousand players, and is set to go into Beta in October, 2008. Our work has already attracted attention from a network of gaming veterans and from publishers wishing to advertise through our game.

When I'm away from coding IC, I spend my time playing video games, and both electric and acoustic guitars (also self-taught). I enjoy the prospect of learning new skills and expanding my knowledge - particularly in web design.

Thank you for reading my bio, enjoy your stay!
